8月17日下午，以“短视频里的中国与世界”为主题的第十二届北京国际电影节短视频单元荣誉盛典在线上举办。英文《深圳日报》选送的视频作品《守护长江源的深圳人》（《守护》）荣获短视频单元新闻类三等奖。

该视频由英文《深圳日报》刘旭东团队拍摄制作，讲述了民间环保组织“绿色江河”志愿者、退休警察邹卓钢的故事。16年来，邹卓钢一直走在生态保护志愿工作的路上。

Liu learnedfromanewsreportaboutZou’svolunteerexperiencesofprovidingtemporarytrafficlightstohelpTibetanantelopescrossthehighwayduringtheirseasonalmigration.InspiredbyZou’sstory,LiureachedouttotheveteranvolunteerandstartedtofilmhisworkinShenzhenrecruitingmorevolunteersforGreenRiver.
视频主创人刘旭东在媒体上读到邹卓钢在可可西里地区为迁徙的藏羚羊设置红绿灯的故事之后，便联系采访和拍摄，记录了邹卓钢在深圳招募、组织、倡导志愿者们的情景。

2021年5月上旬，刘旭东和团队成员跟随邹卓钢走访了“绿色江河”在青藏高原设置的服务站点，探访守护长江源的志愿者们。在五天的跟访期间，他们记录了这群志愿者们真实的生活和工作状态。

“We’redeeplyimpressedbyZou’sstory,”saidLiu.“I’malsohighlyinspiredbytheirdevotedandpersistentvolunteerwork,especiallyinatimewhenbiodiversityishighlyvalued.”

Duringhisfilmingtrip,Liusufferedfromseverealtitudesicknessandevenhadahighfeverbecausemostoftheprotectionstationswerelocatedataltitudeshigherthan4,000meters.Thesubzerotemperaturesalsocausedcamerabatteriestodrainfaster,buttonstolockup,andcomputerharddrivestolosedata,amongotherequipmentmalfunctions.
在青藏高原拍摄期间，由于大部分站点的海拔超过4000米，刘旭东产生了严重的高原反应，甚至出现40度高烧，携带的设备也频频出现技术问题：相机掉电快，按键失灵，电脑硬盘读写故障……

“Thoseexperiencesmakemeadmirethevolunteersmore,astheyhaveinsistedformorethan20yearsonprotectingtheYangtzeRiverheadwaters’ecologicalenvironmentamidsuchharshlivingconditions,”Liusaid.
回忆起这段坎坷的采访经历，刘旭东说：“这次采访让我更加钦佩‘绿色江河’的志愿者们。面对如此艰苦的生存条件，他们依然二十年如一日地坚守长江源，保护当地的生态环境。”

Liu,whohasfocusedonpublicserviceissuesforyears,saidthatjournalistshavearesponsibilitytoguardadiverseworldbyrecordingenvironmentalists’storiesthroughtheirlensandpens,andpromotingenvironmentalprotectiontothepublic.“WeatShenzhenDailywillcontinuetoproducehigh-qualitynewscontentonecologicalenvironmentinthefuture,”hesaid.
关注和报道公益事业多年的他认为媒体人为环保发声责无旁贷，守护多样世界、建设生态文明是每个人的责任。自己的力量虽小，也愿竭尽所能。“我们可以通过镜头和笔头来记录环保人士的故事，向大众普及环保的理念和知识，我们会继续致力于报道更多的环保事迹。”刘旭东说。

该视频报道最早于2021年6月5日“世界环境日”在英文《深圳日报》各新媒体账号和eyeshenzhen英文网微信公号推出，当年10月获得由COP15筹备工作执行委员会办公室指导、新华网承办的COP15全球短视频“最佳故事奖”。

TheShortVideoSectionofBJIFF,firstintroducedtothefilmfestivalthisyear,receivednearly2,000submissionsfrom45countriesandregions,with70ofthemselectedaswinningentries.Amongtheentries,143worksweresubmittedfortheNewsReportCategory,and10wereselectedaswinningworks.
短视频单元是北京国际电影节首次增设的单元，本届北影节短视频单元共征集到来自45个国家和地区近2000部作品，共评选出70部优秀作品，涵盖了新闻类、生活类、知识类、娱乐类、创意类五个类型，以及最具社会影响力作品、最具国际传播力作品、最具公益价值作品和“半夏的纪念”特别板块。其中，新闻类共征集到作品143部，共评选出10部获奖作品。
