TheeasterncoastalcityofQingdaoinShandongprovincehasbeenrampingupeffortstobuildalivablecitywithanimprovedenvironmentforliving,workingandvisiting,localmediareported.

Thisyear,Qingdaostartedathree-yearcampaignofurbanrenewalandurbanconstruction,aimingtofurtherimproveurbanfunctions,urbanquality,andthelivingenvironment,aswellasenhancecitizens'senseofgainandhappiness.

Effortshavebeenmadetopromotethereconstructionofoldurbanareasandoldresidentialcommunities,upgrademunicipalfacilities,andacceleratetheconstructionofparkingfacilities.

Thecityplanstocompletetherenovationofoldresidentialcommunitiesbuiltbefore2000,completetherenovationofoldfactoryareasandtransformanumberoflargeoldblocksaswellasanumberofvillages,accordingtolocalconditions.Inthenextthreeyears,1,108oldresidentialareasareexpectedtoberebuilt,benefiting300,000households.

Thisyear,Qingdaoplanstorenovate318oldresidentialareas,benefiting92,000households.Sofar,all318projectshavebeenstarted.

Qingdaoplanstostrengthenthedevelopmentofheating,gas,sanitationandwaterutilities,andimprovethequalityofdailyservices.Itwillcontinuouslyenhancetheurbancomprehensivecarryingcapacitythroughoutthreeyearsofefforts.

Theconstructionofmunicipalroadsincludingurbanexpresswaysandtrunkroadsarealsoexpectedbeaccelerated,aswellastheconstructionofpedestriancrossingsatimportantnodesinurbanareas.Inthecomingthreeyears,20newpedestriancrossingfacilitiesareexpectedtobebuilt.

Inthecomingthreeyears,Qingdaoplanstopromotetheconstructionof120publicparkinglotsand11busstations,whichcanaddmorethan70,000parkingberths.
