AsalandmarkstepinChina'spushforbroaderopening-up,theCIIEhasplayedapivotalroleinboostingglobalbusinesses'marketexpansionandinvestmentconfidenceinChina.
Withapresenceof26yearsinChina'smainland,L'Orealisoneofthemultinationalcompaniesthathavedirectlyengagedwiththeworld'sfastest-growingconsumermarketthroughtheCIIE,anddoubleddownontheirinvestmenteffortstoseekalargerfootprintinthecountry.

Chinaisundeniablytheincubatorforthecompany'snewideasandopeninnovationthankstoitsrobust,dynamicanduniqueinnovationenvironment,saidL'OrealChairmanJean-PaulAgon.
Lastyear,L'OrealfoundeditsfirstinvestmentcompanyinChinaandstartedconstructionforthecompany'sfirstglobalself-builtIntelligentFulfillmentCenterintheeasternChinesecityofSuzhou.ItalsoplanstobuildanotherIntelligentFulfillmentCenterintheeasterncityofNantong.

Asanexhibitorforthesixthconsecutiveyear,theGermanengineeringandtechnologygiantviewstheCIIEas"aneffectiveinitiativetoencourageconsumptionandexpandopening-up,"headded.Everyyear,Boschbringsconsumersitsglobalpremiereproductscoveringsmartmobilityandhomeappliances.Manyhaveturnedintoin-demandcommoditiesintheChinesemarket.
Currently,BoschiscontinuingwiththeirlayoutincriticalfieldsofsmartmobilityandelectrificationintheChinesemarket."Overthepastdecade,wehaveinvestedacumulativetotalofmorethan50billionRMB(over6.8billionU.S.dollars)inChina,"Jiangsaid.
Earlierthisyear,Boschmadeaninvestmentofaround1billiondollarsinanewR&DandassemblycenterinSuzhou,whichalreadyhasfourBoschfactories.

BOOSTINGCONFIDENCEINTHEFUTURE
Avastmajorityofforeign-fundedcompaniesoperatinginChinaareoptimisticabouttheirdevelopmentinthecountry,withover90percentoftherespondentsexpectingtheirreturnoninvestmenttoincreaseorremainflatinthenextfiveyears,revealedarecentsurveybytheChinaCouncilforthePromotionofInternationalTrade.
ThesurveyalsoshowedthatforeignfirmsdemonstrateastrongwilltoexpandtheirbusinessoperationsinChina,asover70percentoftherespondentssaidtheywouldfurtherlocalizetheirindustrialchainsinChinaormaintainthestatusquo.
DuringtheCIIE,governmentofficials,purchasinggroupsandexhibitorsgatherinShanghaiforextensiveexchangesandpotentialcooperationthroughhigh-leveldialogues.Toattractforeigninvestment,322CIIEexhibitorswillbeorganizedtomakebusinesstripsacrossChina.
"That'swhywealwayschoosetheCIIEasthefirstplatforminChinatopresentournewproducts,newsolutionsandnewinitiatives.AsaCIIE'veteran',wehavewitnessedtheexpansionoftheinfluenceandfriendcircleoftheCIIEyearbyyear,"saidGustavoBiscassi,headofexternalaffairsofBrazil'smininggiantVale.
ItisVale'ssixthtimetotakepartintheCIIE,duringwhichValeispromotingMegaHubsforthefirsttime.MegaHubsareindustrialcomplexesthataimtoproducehotbriquettediron(HBI)usingnaturalgas,andcansubstantiallyreducecarbonemissionsinsteel-making.
BiscassipointedoutthatChina'scontinuouslyoptimizingbusinessenvironmentandrecentpreferentialtaxandfeepolicieswouldfurtherencourageforeignenterprisestoincreaseinvestment.
Amongthem,policieshalvingtheurbanlandusetaxforbulkcommoditystorageoflogisticsfirmswillbeextendeduntiltheendof2027,which"reducedthestoragecostofourironoreatChina'sports,"Biscassisaid.

TheCIIE"practicestruemultilateralismandbuildsmoreopenconsensus,andthusisparticularlyvaluablefortheeconomicdevelopmentoftoday'sworld,"saidZhang,alsochiefexecutiveofficerofZoneGreaterChinaofNestle.
NestlehasinvestedanddevelopedinChinafor37years.Lookingintothefuture,thecompanywillcontinuetodeepenitsexplorationoftheChinesemarket,hesaid,expressingconfidenceinChina'slong-termdevelopment.
